PAVE - Anti-Bullying Initiative

  • We have received funding from Girl Scouts of the USA and the U.S. Department of Juvenile Justice to address school-age bullying. Girls and adults from last year’s “Balance and Power” conference told us that they are now ready “to do something” about bullying. Some of you may have seen the Oprah Show last fall, (with a repeat broadcast in January), about the Challenge Day Program. Girl Scout Council of the Flint Hills will bring this program to Kansas with a three day “Next Steps Community Workshop” – August 24-26, 2007. Forty adults and 20 girls (ages 15 and older) will be invited to attend the three days of personal growth activities. At the conclusion of the workshop, these adults and girls will go back to their schools and communities and create “Be the Change” teams. For more information about the Challenge Day philosophy, you may view information at www.challengeday.org. Contact Angela or Kitty about how you can be part of the solution. angelac@gsflinthills.org or kittyf@gsflinthills.org
